Who Doesn't Love Homemade Cakes and Icing?

I am an admitted "Old School" Cake Baker.  What does that mean, exactly?  It means I make and decorate cakes the way I watched my Mamaw do them. Usually in shapes and decorating by piping the design on.  I can use fondant, but I don't really like it.  I guess I feel like it's cheating.  Often people say they want fondant because they don't like the taste of icing, but they fail to realize there is still some icing under the fondant anyway,  to hold it on. But to each his own. :)
**Update: Okay so I've discovered using fondant is less work on my poor hands.  So I'm happy to use fondant! :) **

My daughter and I enjoy making cakes to help people celebrate and strive for them to taste good, first and foremost.  I mean, let's face it, you can decorate cardboard to be beautiful, but who wants to eat cardboard?  Don't get me wrong, we like our cakes to look nice also, but we are much more critical of the taste.

Please contact us for pricing of your cake.  We make all of our cakes fresh, with quality ingredients.  Our icing is a family recipe (basically Wilton buttercream, which I was taught as  a kid) with my signature Almond flavoring (unless you request us not use it).  Our icing is made fresh and does not come from a can or bucket.  Our cakes are not frozen for days or weeks.  We will not make you a cake that we wouldn't make and serve for our family.  I have yet to hear anyone complain about the taste of my cakes.

The photo's below are a small example of what we've created recently  The cakes were created just the way the customers requested as far as amount of icing, colors, etc...
