I'm going to be in the New Makers Market at An Affair of the Heart!

I'm so excited!   Several weeks ago I entered for the chance to possibly be selected as part of the New Makers Market at An Affair of the Heart craft show in Tulsa.  See the announcement here...

They were going to notify those selected this week, and sense it's Friday, and I hadn't heard anything, I made the assumption that I hadn't been selected.  Which I was bummed about, but I'd live.

Imagine my surprise when I opened my email this evening and the very first thing I saw said "Congratulations! You've been selected...."   I scanned it, replied instantly to make sure they knew I was still interested and then read the rest! :)  I'm over the moon excited for this opportunity, I just can't tell you!

Now I have a ton of work to add as much as possible to my inventory in 27 short days.

Just wanted to share my happy news!

Have a great weekend all and Happy Father's Day to all the Dads!

Simply Beautiful Throw -Pattern now available

I was trying to come up with a throw design that was easy to whip up like a c2c, had an easy design and would show off color changing yarns like Lions Brand Mandala and such. I think I’ve finally came up with one that ticks all of those boxes.

A sweet lady suggested I name my pattern “Simply Beautiful”, well she may have said “Beautiful” but I’m adding Simply because it is really simple once you get going.

I used one cake of Mandala Gnome to create a small and sweet lap blanket which works just as well for a stroller blanket. To make a larger throw simply make your foundation grouping chain longer. If you are using a color change yarn like Gnome, I would create more of these lap throws the size in the pattern and then connect them together. This should help continue your pattern design with the colors in the order you’d like.

You can also work it using separate colors and using a Magic Knot to change the colors where you’d like.

My finished lap throw measures 22”x31” using just one cake of Lion’s Brand Mandala Gnome.
I will be making a larger one of none color changing yarn and adding those details as soon as I’m finished. Will add more pictures also.

To purchase my pattern use this link

Thanks so much for all of the lovely comments.

Please check back. I'm now working on the sweetest baby dress pattern.  It'll be added soon!

Out on the truck with Hubs

From time to time I get to hop on the truck with hubs for a round or two.
We originally left Tuesday, for A three stop in texas; Austin, San Antonio and Houston.
Then we were to reload in Baytown, but the company that ordered the truck decided they couldn't fit their product into the trial because of the quarter inch rub rails on the bottom. Seriously?!  We sat two and a half hours for them to do lunch, them a meeting and THEN they tell us they can't use us. Talk about non/use of the truck! do we basically sat wasting our time for. Itching.  Finally got a load out of a Houston the next morning, which they wanted up Ron seminole, OK by 5pm. Yeah that wasn't going to happen.  The product t (plastic trash cans) were hand loaded and it took them almost 2 hours to load, which means we didn't get out of there until 9am. Okay, so yeah, technically it takes about 7 hours to get from Houston to Deminole, however, that's not taking into account the fact that if we go 70mph (which is what's the truck Ian governed at) hubs risks his fuel bonus for the month, nor does it take into consideration the TRAFFIC in Houston and Dallas! Oh and let's not forget that truckers have a mandatory 30 minute lunch break that must be taken.   And did I mention stopping for a atheism break can take 15-45 minutes depending on the craziness at the truck stop?  So needless to say we only stopped once, and made it up there around 5:30.  Talk about a long exhausting day!  But we did it and the receiver was really nice.

Anyway, we made it to the yard, dropped the trailer, bob-tailed to get another trailer that a driver left and then grabbed out pickup, bought a few groceries, ate a sandwich and went to bed, utterly exhausted.  This morning we got up, took our pickup to the Flying J and grabbed showers and coffee.

Now we're set and ready to head to Denver!

I know, Boeing.. but I'm getting to the good stuff!  I picked up some beautiful pale yellow yarn to work on a baby set for show inventory.  I also picked up some size 10 crochet thread to work on the maxi skirt I've had requests for.  I'm excited to see how it works up. I'll post pictures of my progress, so check back or check my Facebook.com/TraceysTracery
